Keyboard Configuration
RePlay OS was designed with joysticks and gamepads as first-class citizens. While several computer emulators are supported, the system's primary target is arcade machines and video game consoles. Consequently, computer support is limited to gamepad/joystick compatibility, with the keyboard serving only as a fallback method for UI navigation and specific internal features, which are detailed in the table below:
Default UI Key Mapping
Key | Description |

Up Down | Used for moving up and down through the menus |
Left Right | Used for jumping forward and backward thorugh the menu pages |
Page Up Page Down | Used for jumping forward and backward to the next letter thorugh the menu pages |
Backspace | Used to navigate to the previous menu or screen |
Return | Used for starting games, choosing options, and accessing menus |
R Shift L Shift | Functions as the gamepad Select button |
Space | Functions as the gamepad Start button |
Tab | Hotkey for opening MAME native config menu |
C | Hotkey for adding time credits when Coin-Op mode is enabled |
H | Hotkey for system halt (useful for taking real photos) |
S | Hotkey for taking screenshots |
F1 | Hotkey for opening/closing the UI menu |
Esc | Hotkey for exiting the UI to the Linux command prompt |
